PRESS RELEASE: EXPERIMENTS WITH TRUTH

THE JERUSALEM BIENNALE PRECUSOR SHOW

'Experiments with Truth' is India's Jerusalem Biennale Precursor Show, curated by noted curator and writer, Gargi Seth.

Exhibition opens at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, at 6:30pm on 12th July 2019, with an inauguration by Minister for Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel. Exhibition continues till 21st July.

The present collection has works by some of the finest Indian artists, some most acclaimed, and some promising young talents. It brings together a confluence of ideas and ideals with references to the global society; assertions of roots and hopes, inner journeys through the myriad hues of life - experiments with truth - of the most elemental nature; expressed through contemporary Indian art. It hopes to be an island within the larger context of the Jerusalem Biennale 2019. The works depict man's experiments with truth; and, in the larger context of the Biennale, his eternal striving for God.

Over the leap of generations, Gandhi's ideals withstand the testimony of time, becoming even more relevant for the truth seekers of today, as they seek to reinvent a global society into one that courageously acknowledges our varied pasts and fosters an inclusive social fabric. In the year when India celebrates 150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, it is only appropriate that we rediscover his inspirational approach to the pursuit of truth." – Gargi Seth
