Born 1938, Srinagar; Painter; Studied wood and ivory carving, at School of Art, Trivandrum, Kerala. Started career as a craftsman, 1959. Started painting 1965 Visited U.S.A., 1 98O~ Jointed National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad for 'Craft Design', 1981.Solo Shows in Delhi, Dhoomi Mal Gallery, 1991.1997; and more than a dozen group shows. Awards: State Annual Art Exhibition, Srinagar, 1967, 69, 70 and 76. Lalded Award, Srinagar, 1979 (from J. & K. Academy of Art & Culture) Hon'ble Mention, National Exhibition, LKA, 1992, New Delhi.


 
 

 
 
ANIL KARANJAI

Born 1940 in East Bengal, Emigrated to India (Varanasi) 1947; Self taught; Studied sculpture at the Industrial Training Centre, Varanasi 1953 to 60; Worked as Designer in the Government Pottery Development Centre, Chunar 1960 to 62; Freelance Painter since 1962 ; Founder - member of the group 'United Artist', Varanasi ; Participated in many Group Shows held at Delhi, Lucknow, Calcutta, Kanpur and Varanasi and a Two-man show at Kathmandu, 1968 ; One-man-show, Varanasi, 1969, National Award 1972; One-man-who Dhoomi Mal Gallery; Paintings in many collections in India and abroad.


 
 
 

   
ARPNA CAUR
Born 1954 ; M. Lift. from Delhi University ; self taught Painter; Received many Awards-VI Triennale India Gold Medal 1986, AIFACS Award 1985 ; Research grant from Lalit Kala Akademi. Exhibited widely in Museums and Galleries in India and abroad-Fukuoka Museum 


 
 
 

   
ASHOK HAZRA
Born 1946 (Midnapur, W. Bengal) ; B.F.A. 1974 College of Art ~. Delhi) ; Awarded in College of Art exhibitions ; Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy Award 1986, 1989 ; Exhibited in various state level exhibitions since 1973 ; Worked as assistant of B. Das Gupta in executing Mural, Asia Trade Fair 1972 ; also assisted Karmakar in doing Mural on Wildlife and Prehiotoric themes for the Natural History Museum (N.Delhi) ; Works in various private and public collections.


 
 

   
AZIZ
Training in art at College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad; Done relief font murals for five star hotels. He has been blending relief  constructions with oil paintings; Specialized in structuring horses; works with many institutions and individuals in India and abroad.

Umpteen Solo and Group exhibitions in India and abroad ; Life memher of AIFACS (N. Delhi) &

DILIP DASGUPTA

Born 1931; Diploma in arts from Delhi Polytechnic; Painter Professional; practising since 1954 ; All India Exhibitions including National Exhibition of Art; Received prize for the best water colour landscape at the annual exhibition of AIFACS, New Delhi in 1961, and presidents' Plaque at the Society's annual in 1962. Recipient of Lalit Kala Akademi National Award in 1966; Received Italian Government Scholarship in painting I 963. Collections; talit Kala Akademi, New Delhi; National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi ; Commission for LNESCO.


 
 

   
DINANATH PATHY

Born in 1942, (Bhubneshwar); Painter, researcher, writer/poet; started his carrier as a muralist, theatre curtain painter and a make-up boy ; also Art teacher, organiser and had stint with Lalit Kala Akademi (N. Delhi) as Secretary ; Has been awarded for his research as well as painting and creative writings; represe~ed in pnvite and public institutions; presently Jawahar Lal Nehru Fellow.

Born 1949 Sangli (Maharashtra); Art teacher Diploma (1969), G. D. Art (1972), Art Master Diploma (1973) from Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art; Six one-man shows, many group exhibitions; State Award (Maharashtra State) 1973; Faculty member Sir J. J. School of Art.


 

   
GOPI GAJWANI

Born 1938 ; Studied at Delhi School of Arts; Held a number of oneman shows of paintings and drawings ; participation in a number of group exhibitions in National Exhibitions and the VIth Triennale India; represented in various collections in India and abroad ; Gopi is an outstanding Graphic artist

Born 1945 Parli Vaijnath (Maharashtra); G.D. Art Painting (1968) Applied (1971); Many awards including National Award LKA1993; 97 one-man shows, 50 group shows, 30 murals; in the collection of NOMA, Birla Museum, Baroda Museum and many Institutions and individuals in India and abroad.


 
 

   
NAND KATYAL

Born Lahore, 1935 Painter; National Diploma Delhi Polytechnic, 1961; was Art Director, SPAN magazine, USIS, New Delhi; National Award LKA for painting; Solo Shows: Delhi, 1962, 67, 71, 76 onwards. Participated in National and other all India exhibitions of painting; Secy. Delhi Slip Choker for two years; Founder number 'The Unknown'; taught art at the Triennia Kala Snag and College of Art, Delhi. Now retired and full time painter.

Born Yeotmal 1937; Painter; Studied at Indore College of Fine Ants and J. J. Born 1951; Diploma Fine Arts Sir J. J. School of Arts, Mumbal 1975; Awarded Medal of Honour by the Mayor of Wetzlar Germany. Thirteen Solos shows in India and Germany; Several participations in-group exhibitions; Travelled in Italy, France, England and Germany; many Institutional and Individual collections in India and abroad. Compiling a Dictionary on Modern Indian Art and Artists.

Born 1933 Distt. Attack (now in Pakistan); staated as signboard painter; illustrated many books of Jainism; Started exhibiting since 1965; exhibited in India, New Jersey (U.S.A.); Honoured as Veteran 1993 by AIFACS (N. Delhi); Founder member TRIA Artists Group and Founder President SANKALP Aritist's Society; Participated in many group shows; Works with Indian and forcign collectors.

SACHIDA NAGDEV

Born in 1940 Ujiam (M.P.), India. Early training under local signboard painters from the age of nine. Studied fine arts and discovered and copied prehistoric rock shelters under the guidance of Dr. V.S. Wakankar, renowned archaeologist. Passed G.D. Art Irom J.J. School of Arts, Bombay 1961. M.A. in ancient Indian History and Culture, in 1962. M.A. in painting from Vikram University, Ujjain, 1970 First Class 1st Awarded Amrita Shergill Fellowship of M.P. Govt. for creative art in 1976 and Govt. of India fellowship in 1984-86. Widely travelled in India, Nepal, Europe, Japan and Middle East.35 one-man shows; exhibitited in National and International level exhibitidns; Yomiuri Telecasting Award, Osaka Triennale 90, Japan, among other awards; In the collection of museums and individuals in India and abroad.
